“This is what I want and I got it” – Tiktoker speaks after being blasted for having a child at 18

Amidst criticisms and questions surrounding her young age and motherhood journey, 18-year-old Nigerian TikToker, Chidinma, courageously addressed the public’s reactions to her story. She gained attention after sharing the challenges of getting pregnant at a young age, including the father abandoning them after childbirth.

Chidinma responded to the backlashes by expressing her happiness in having her child, who she considers her “only bundle of joy.” Despite the circumstances, she emphasized that her child brings her comfort and serves as her source of happiness. In a heartfelt message, Chidinma opened up about the challenges she faced, stating that the pregnancy was not intentional, but she cherishes her child and does not view him as a mistake.

In her own words, she shared, “Ma, it’s not my fault; it wasn’t intentional buh I don’t see my baby as a mistake to me coz right now, he’s my happiness. The one only person I can talk to. Won’t you like to have ur own happiness sis?? What you like may not be what I like. This is what I want and I got it. At least I have my own happiness right now since the father left us.”

Chidinma’s response sheds light on the complexity of personal choices, the stigma often associated with young motherhood, and the resilience displayed by individuals facing unexpected challenges. Her openness and determination to find joy in her situation serve as a reminder of the diverse paths individuals navigate in their journeys, each with unique circumstances and perspectives.

She added that her child is her only bundle of joy whom she wanted and had regardless of being abandoned by the baby daddy responsible for the pregnancy.

“Ma, it’s not my fault; it wasn’t intentional buh I don’t see my baby as a mistake to me coz right now, he’s my happiness. The one only person I can talk to. Won;t you like to have ur own happiness sis?? What you like may not be what I like. This is what I want and I got it. At least I have my own happiness right now since the father left us,” she wrote.
