Jubilation as Naira Marley, Sam Larry granted bail with 3 sureties and N20 million Naira each

Nigerian singer, Abdulazeez Fashola popularly known as Naira Marley, and music promoter, Samson Elutu popularly as Sam Larry have been granted bail.

In a report making around on the internet, Naira Marley and Sam Larry required to provide three sureties and a sum of 20 million naira as part of their bail conditions.

In addition, Naira and Larry have been ordered to surrender their international passports and make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department (CID).

The Magistrate issued them a stern warning to avoid reaching her directly, as all attempts to contact her would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings.

Recalls that, a Magistrate’s Court sitting in Yaba, Lagos State, on Wednesday, remanded Naira Marley, Sam Larry and two others in Police custody, over their alleged involvement with circumstances surrounding the death of Afrobeat musician, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

Others remanded alongside Naira Marley and Sam Larry by Chief Magistrate Mrs Adeola Olatubosun were Ogedengbe Fisayo, 37, and Ayobami Sadiq, 27.

Chief Magistrate Mrs Olatubosun ordered that the quartet should be kept behind bars for 21 days in the custody of the Police State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCID) and adjourned their matter till October 25.

She also ordered that the suspects be granted access to medicals and lawyers of their choice.

Earlier, DSP Umaru Bello and ASP Augustine Nwabuisi, who led the legal team of the Police, had urged the court to remand the men for 30 days to enable them to conclude their investigation.

However, Chief Magistrate Olatunbosun ruled that Fashola and the others be remanded for just 21 days.
