Akon, the Senegalese-American singer, has expressed profound regret for not signing Olamide Adedeji, also known as Olamide, several years ago. He revealed that the YBNL leader was his personal favorite artist during that time.

In a Skype interview with Oladotun Ojuolape Kayode, popularly known as Do2Tun from Cool FM Lagos, Akon admitted his remorse for not having the opportunity to sign the talented rapper.

“I would probably say the one person in Nigeria that I wish I had signed is Olamide. Honestly, I wish I had signed Olamide because he would have signed a lot of new artists anyway. Olamide was my favorite artist before he reinvented himself as a music executive. The first time we met, I told him he was my favorite artist,” Akon stated.

This revelation highlights the missed opportunity in the music industry and showcases the immense talent that Olamide possesses, as recognized by a global music icon like Akon.
