“Beautiful Mummy Of Lagos Don Go Court”- Fans Reactions As EFCC Confirm Arrest Of Bobrisky Over Currency Mutilation and Abuse Of Naira (Video)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has confirmed the apprehension of well-known crossdresser Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky. Earlier reports from Infotrend news suggesting no arrest were contradicted by online sources, stating that Bobrisky was indeed arrested at Pinnock Estate in Lagos State on April 3, 2024, at 3 pm. Dele Oyewale, a spokesperson, disclosed exclusively to Linda Ikeji Blog the reasons behind the arrest, citing currency mutilation and Naira abuse as the causes.

He revealed that the individual garnering attention online is currently in their custody in Lagos and will soon face legal proceedings.

“Our facility in Lagos State currently houses him. We apprehended him on charges related to currency mutilation and Naira abuse,” stated Oyewale.

This development follows a statement by police spokesperson Olumuyiwa Adejobi, explaining the complexities surrounding the arrest of figures like Bobrisky and James Brown due to the absence of specific laws against cross-dressing in Nigeria.

Adejobi emphasized the legal challenge in prosecuting individuals solely based on cross-dressing without concrete evidence linking them to the LGBTQ community.

In March 2024, Bobrisky responded vehemently to critics of his lifestyle choice, asserting his right to personal freedom and emphasizing the concept of individual choice in a lengthy Instagram post.

He went on to express that even if his creator was to wake him up, he would still defend himself and tell God why. He further cautioned them to mind their business.
